These precious things

let them break their hold on me. He said 'you're really an ugly girl, but I like the way you play.'
-Precious Things, Tori Amos

I don't like to clog a post up with too many pictures so I am posting this in 2 separate posts. Today I decided that op shopping with a friend of mine might be a nice way to break in my new dress. I decided to take my camera along in case we went into any particularly interesting shops and in the end we did. I didn't take and photos in the Salvos and Lifeline shops because they are all the same, but I did take some in this antique shop we went into. It's called the Colosseum and is full of fun little artifacts of from the past. It's always fun to browse through.

When I get paid I think I might go back and collect some doileys and tea cups and saucers for my tea parties. They have quite a few really cute little vintage toys and I think I might start collecting some. I think when I leave home my house will look somewhat like an antique shop haha. Or a grandmother's home.

My children will live just to grow old

but if I sit here and weep I'll be blown over by the slightest of breeze.
Rambling Man, Laura Marling

I am visiting the lovely city of Melbourne again. I have been here for only half of my time and I am already down to my last $25. But I have a weekly transport ticket and many snacks from home that I can take with me. I think random public transport and home snacks are the way to go. I also have my shiny new Canon 500D to explore with.

Can anyone recommend some nice places to sit and read or take photographs? I have a few places but I'm wondering if I can find a few more. Melbourne is a vast place afterall.

I had my first proper sleep in in about 3 months today. It was simply fantastic. It's hard to sleep in with a 3 year old brother running around the house in the early hours of the morning when your house has paper thin walls. I am not sure what to do with the rest of my day though.

Here is a new dress I bought a couple of days ago. I am completely in love with it.

Chickens don't has hair, but I bet they wish they did

So named by my friend Eleanor.

Yesterday was Mother's Day and my sister and I took some photos while in the park. It was a great day but we went to visit the part of my family that still lives in Sydney, where I was born. I cannot quite tell you how difficult it is for me to travel there. Not transportation wise, catch a train or have someone drive me. My problem is that I am terrified of being in cars. I've been in too many accidents. I make myself sick on the 2.5 hour drive there from stress. 110 km/ph is too fast, I don't like it and we shouldn't do it. I don't like being in cars at the best of times but freeways freak me out. Oh well.

I had to take some long and slow or short and fast shutter speed photos for photography which led to messing around and photographing the movement of my hair. Family gatherings mean I get to experiment with my pop's Canon.

Still not sure on a blog name as yet.

Red, Red, Red

It's been over a year, but I've finally made the move and decided to make my hair more red again. The actual reason was so that I could go as Ginny Weasley to a 90's themes 21st party but I already had the dye. Its just a semi, a natural one that smells so much better than actual dye and is a lot easier to handle. It takes 3 packets to do my hair, so it's quite an expensive venture, so obviously I don't do it very often.

This is perhaps not the best picture, it looks kind of brown here, but it was a really bright day so we had to try and strike a compromise that showed my hair but didn't wash me out into a white blur. I really want a decent camera.
Oh well, I am going overseas in December and I plan to break the bank for one then. I haven't decided what type I will get yet.
