Doe, a Deer

A female deer. Rae a drop of falling sun.
Me a name I call myself.

I hope you have all had a very Merry Christmas indeed! I myself am quite full and sleepy. I think of all the presents I recieved this Christmas these are among my favourite. My family is fortunately well acquainted with Etsy, a fact which really works in my favour. It is one of my favourite sites and I have been known to spend hours trawling it. These caught my eye a few months ago. I am thoroughly in love with almost all things related to animals and most of my artworks involve animals with people things or people with animal things. So indeed these clips were very appropriate.

If you wish to purchase some of your very own the Woodland Belle shop can be found here.

All for swinging you around

When people ask me how long I've been growing my hair I tell them 'always.' When they ask if it annoys me I tell them 'I have always had long hair, I don't know any different but yes sometimes it gets a little bit annoying.'

I was sitting here tonight thinking on this. A couple of my friends in class today were arguing that it is longer than it was when I started uni. I don't really know that this is the case, for one when I started uni I was growing out layers which made my hair look shorter and number two I got my fringe back almost two years ago. For some reason it makes my hair look longer. I think...

I don't have any of the 'good' childhood photos in my room, they are all under mum's bed, but I do have my own small collection which I looked through. I was aware that when I was really small I had shortish blond hair but I wanted to see if I could truly claim to have 'always had long hair.' I know it is certainly true of late primary school and all of highschool.

Well no, not so long.

One thing of interest that I did find though was animals. There are more photos of me with animals than without!

Chickens don't has hair, but I bet they wish they did

So named by my friend Eleanor.

Yesterday was Mother's Day and my sister and I took some photos while in the park. It was a great day but we went to visit the part of my family that still lives in Sydney, where I was born. I cannot quite tell you how difficult it is for me to travel there. Not transportation wise, catch a train or have someone drive me. My problem is that I am terrified of being in cars. I've been in too many accidents. I make myself sick on the 2.5 hour drive there from stress. 110 km/ph is too fast, I don't like it and we shouldn't do it. I don't like being in cars at the best of times but freeways freak me out. Oh well.

I had to take some long and slow or short and fast shutter speed photos for photography which led to messing around and photographing the movement of my hair. Family gatherings mean I get to experiment with my pop's Canon.

Still not sure on a blog name as yet.

her head is far removed from her body =/

my sister Natalie in my glasses. She is 5 years and 1 day younger than me.

I look like a nun...

Cousin It.

whoosh. gone.

Red, Red, Red

It's been over a year, but I've finally made the move and decided to make my hair more red again. The actual reason was so that I could go as Ginny Weasley to a 90's themes 21st party but I already had the dye. Its just a semi, a natural one that smells so much better than actual dye and is a lot easier to handle. It takes 3 packets to do my hair, so it's quite an expensive venture, so obviously I don't do it very often.

This is perhaps not the best picture, it looks kind of brown here, but it was a really bright day so we had to try and strike a compromise that showed my hair but didn't wash me out into a white blur. I really want a decent camera.
Oh well, I am going overseas in December and I plan to break the bank for one then. I haven't decided what type I will get yet.

Creative Procrastination

It is the second last week of uni for the year and my motivation has been sapped. It trickled away long ago to be honest. But I am not the only one. For many months now we have all been aiming not for High Distinctions but for Passes. My aren't we ambitious.

So, instead of doing the nature journal and sea shore creatures poster I have to complete for Natural History Illustration, or studying for the slide test for Modern Art theory, I decided to get creative.

While it is blatant procrastination I am rather proud that I procrastinated in a creative way, rather than just reading a book like I usually do.

These are three of the clips that I made last night.

P.S is it rude to eat the entire punnet of strawberries that your mum purchased for the family when you still have one chocolate teddy bear left?

Chocolate and strawberries are truly a marriage made in heaven.
