Happy Wizarding Independence Day!

I am pretty sure my friends are once more wishing that I had never heard of Harry Potter. They likely want to shoot me or at least gag me a couple of times a year when I once more throw myself wholeheartedly into my obsessive LOVE of Harry Potter. I don't do things like obsession by half measures.

Today is May 2nd, Wizarding Independence Day, the day 12 years ago when Harry defeated Lord Voldemort with his own rebounding Avada Kedavra spell. Sorry if I just spoiled it for you, but really by now you should have read the book. If not, and you still didn't know, I commend your friends for their restraint in not telling you.

"Do not pity the dead, Harry. Pity the living, and, above all, those who live without love. By returning, you may ensure that fewer souls are maimed, fewer families are torn apart. If that seems to you a worthy goal, then we say good bye for the present." ~ Dumbledore

"I am sorry too", said Lupin. "Sorry I will never know him...but he will know why I died and I hope he will understand. I was trying to make a world in which he could live a happier life" ~ Lupin

'I don't want anyone else to try to help. It's got to be like this. It's got to be me' ~ Harry.

This picture has no real relevance to Independence Day but I love it all the same.

  3. Hardly defeated him, he just sat there. Just lucky, not actually skilled in anyway.
